baccante

On Friday 13 February, at 9 p.m., at the CineTeatro Agorà in Mozzo (BG), there will be a preview performance of Baccante by Giovanni Calò and Giulia Gaudenzi, a play based on Euripides' Greek tragedy The Bacchae, translated by Edoardo Sanguineti. On stage, a single actress, through the character of Bacchante, the last of her sisters, recalls the events in the city of Thebes and on Mount Citerone: shadows, clamour, contradictions, intrigues and passions of a fragile and primordial humanity re-emerge from the past. The play, which has received the patronage of the Edoardo Sanguineti Interuniversity Study Centre, will be performed again in Milan at Pacta.dei Teatri on Saturday 14 March at 8.45 p.m. and Sunday 15 March at 5.30 p.m. In addition to the poster, some photos from the play are attached, courtesy of the authors. Tickets are available at the following links: 13 February in Mozzo; 14 and 15 March in Milan.
